Loose hose in engine bay
#1

Hi guys, can you help me ideantify what is this loose hose in my engine bay - found it tonight as it was hanging near the front wheel. I bound it so it is not in the way of the wheel but can't figure out what it does or where to reattach it. Is it safe to drive?

The pictures aint great but it looks like conduit trucking that usually protects wiring. Have a look where the cable goes and see if its come lose somewhere.

I think that is the water in diesel hose that comes from the fuel filter. Say you want to decant the water that has collected at the bottom of the fuel/diesel filter, then one would turn the knob at the top of the fuel/diesel filter and water will flow out of this hose. It is not supposed to be connected to anything, only kind of sticking at the bottom of the car.
Not the best of light for the photos, but it looks like it is going upwards toward the fuel filter and the texture (plastic corrugated wrapping) is the same as that hose. See if it goes to the bottom of the fuel filter.

Edit: too quick to post and did not read it is a petrol version. Not too sure if these have fuel filter, probably yes, so potentially the same thing applies?

Cheers,
Saskak

there is a drain pipe from the bottom of the plastic battery tray on mine , in case acid/water sits in there and rots the metal bits I suppose.

In the second picture it looks like the Bonnet release cable , youll have to chase it out and see where it goes . Is anything not working ?
