multi function display

can some one please help , my multifunction display seems to be losing its digits, at times it is all  right , then the digits seem to start fading  out the back light is ok i replaced the bulbs in it  but it is still missing digits, is this a power failure or will i need a new display unit

If all digits and their bars are equally affected it may be a power supply issue, but possibly to do with power components on the display board itself rather than the wiring supplying 12v to it, though not guaranteed. I would try swapping the board but don't bin the old one too quickly.

If only some bars are dead, then they have burnt out due to old age and the board must be replaced.
