Hi all,
I just did an injector leak off test on my car. I am not writing a full description as I made a video of the whole procedure. The link is below. The video is for a Peugeot Partner (a badge difference with the M59), 1.6HDi, 92bhp, 9HXC engine, 2007.
There is a lot of hearsay about how much a good/bad injector leaks back, due to being blocked or passes too much fuel in the cylinders. I have not bothered with that, I only wanted to compare if anything is out of the ordinary, e.g. an injector is completely out. As far as I managed to find out the general consensus is that a good injector should not leak back more than ~25ml per min. On mine, I let the car to run for ~3.6min. For that time injectors 1,3 and 4 on average leaked ~15ml/min. Injector two is slightly on the blocked side with ~19ml/min, but still under the "magic" threshold of 25ml/min. Whether these magic threshold numbers are based on some truth is a different matter. I could not find anything remotely plausible to back them.
The correction ECU values for these injectors are all less than +/-1, so pretty much no correction, so they should be relatively good.
I think of putting a can of BG245premium and do the test again to see if these is any difference.

It will be interesting to see the outcome.
Millers seems a regular popular choice on here too, the latest from yesterday.

I think most of these are basically snake oil, but apparently the BG244/BG245 and I think the Archoil6400-d contain Techron (polyether amine and a few other things). The PEA is a very good detergent. I will report back when I do the test. I sincerely doubt it will do anything, but let's see the end result. I have ordered the BG245 and if it has no effect I will get Millers and see again.

Thank you for video.
IMHO this test is not that accurate.
For blocked injectors far better result is with the use of oscilloscope.
One can make pretty good oscilloscope for cheap.
Arduino+SD card makes one for less then 15$

I completely agree that it is not that accurate, it was just easier to do. I will look into the oscilloscope.

You should try some products from xado and make a test afterwards. I used a similar product from xado and I think it works because last winter my car almost did not start at all when the tempreature was below zero celcius but this winter my car starts quit fine even at -7 degrees .

Many thanks for the suggestion, although everyone has their own favourite cleaner/additive and I cannot spend X number of pounds testing these, it will be a neverending thing. I sincerely doubt if I ask the companies for a sample of these to do the tests, they would provide it.

Hi Saskak, when you refitted the leakoff pipes it looked easy to click into place. I removed 2 of my leakoff pipes but cant get them to click back in.
Ive tried diesel to lube the green o rings, any ideas?
Did you refit the old pipes or replacements?

The very first time it was a replacement, but then I have done this several times and used the same one. I did not even replace the o-rings. They snap on and are a very tight fit. Once they are kind of straight on, it is a hard push from top. One of my o-rings is slightly damaged, but because they are a tight fit and it has not leaked since. For the next test I will replace the o-rings. I kind of wiggle them and push them, you can kind of feel when they have clicked.
Generally, the leak off pipes pull/push them in awkward direction and it is a bit difficult to get them straight. It may be easier to get all of the off and start from left or right. It is just a harder push from top than you think. Some go easy, but some I need to push harder.
