Attaching Hand Grip in Rear Slots

Hello,
Wondering if you camper conversion folks could recommend a way to mount hand grips on either side of the roof interior to help my elderly family get in and out of the rear seat. I'd like to use the existing brackets behind the plastic covers in my 65 plate Multispace Feel. Does anyone make a handle that can fit these, or at least a short section of rod that I could put a handle over? Rather not have a rod right the way across for safety reasons, I'm thinking. Or is that mounting not made for that kind of stress? They're thin people, they just need a little help...

Thanks - I'd forgotten about those things and might try one in a pinch, but I was hoping for something higher that could be grabbed onto to settle themselves in.
