Left direction indicator is beeping?
#1
Hi,

I have a few months old Berlingo XL. Suddenly when I start left indicator it started to beep.
First I thaught the light is faulty but all light bulbs are ok.

Any of you have the same problem?

Regards,
Maske

Hello,
it can't be a parking sensor, it is happening only when I switch on left indicator. With right one is normal.

Actually this beeping is not happening all the time. It starts to beep and than stops. But it is only happening on left indicator. Could be a switch problem. I shall check it during regular service.

Does it have a charging relay fitted at all for either a leisure battery or towing electrics?
Could be a faulty earth if it has.

Thank you for your answer. I'm sorry but this is too specific question for me. Can I check this somehow?

Does your car have a tow bar fitted?

Somewhere behind the rear trim panels in the boot ( mine was on the os in the bingo but both Picasso and c8 have it on the ns) will be a bypass relay and buzzer / beeper that chimes when your towing electrics are installed and in use so you know your trailer indicators are working.

First port of call is the socket to see if there is any damage or if the wire from the number 1 pin yellow wire is shorting to earth which will cause the buzzer to beep. I'm assuming you have a 13 pin socket not 12n socket.

Next port of call will be the relay itself. Its probably easier to buy a new one for £7 or so and swap it out as its a sealed unit. But you can check to see if any of the outputs have continuity with earth when they shouldn't have.

See how you get on

Marty
