BSI reset, battery drain

Just had a google to find out how to do a BSI reset because my battery is draining randomly over night. Instructions are pretty clear but they all stop at the last step. None of them say what to look for to know if the reset actually happened. How will I know if it's worked? Will the central display do anything?

Not even a little bugle fanfair from the horn? 

Not to worry upon disconnecting the battery to do the BSI I noticed the connection was very dirty. Hopefully that's fix it. Did a parasitic draw test and got about 60mA. But the battery drain was random so I'll wait and see.
