Hi all,
we just got a new 2016 Berlingo Diesel Automatic. Nice car, but the 7" stereo is an abomination. No carplay, no navigation, outdated Mirrorlink, laggy and pretty much useless. I would like to put a double din touchscreen aftermarket unit in, so we can use Google maps, use Bluetooth and listen to podcasts.
Has this been done? I don't mind if I lose some functionality, and I know that most likely stuff like the operation via stalks may not work, but a decent stereo is more important to me.
Btw, we're in Sweden, not the UK, but since I don't speak Swedish yet, this seems the better forum for now...
Thanks,
- Fabian (aka Krazykraut)

If you don't care about stalk functionality you can fit whatever stereo you like in there! If you check connects2.com for adaptor leads then you can fit double din android units and keep the stalks working. Remember most of the onboard driver info computer is built into the standard radio such as fuel range, mpg, settings, clock set etc etc.

does this mean that you lose the fuel data etc... if you change the radio unit? If so, is there anyway to keep that functionality?
Thanks!

You lose the ability to control the display without an expensive add-on connects2 interface to keep that functionality. Also you lose the warning tones for the reversing sensors. It can be remapped to the dash fault bleeper with DiagBox but otherwise, yep you lose it all. Can't change the clock time twice a year, change the fuel trip computer display, etc etc since the original stereo is a key part of that display system.
