We seem to have a leak from a brake fluid tank at the back of our battery on our 1.6HDi VTR. We are having trouble finding a part number to get it ordered as if you type in master cylinder or servo the tank is not included. Same if you ask for the tank it just lists the main tank at the top of the engine. I will post a photo showing the tank and if someone could trace a part number for it i would appreciate it.
Given the price a replacement part from Citroen is likely to be you may be better off looking on ebay for a used master cylinder with the reservoir you need.
Just seen the thread, I had a similar problem, in fact I managed to snap the stubby pipe where the upper reservoir fills the lower one, I got the tank from Motaquip as it used to be called in Trafford Park, Manchester, think its called Parts Northwest now looking at Google. It was about £35 if I remember correctly and he said it was the same price as the dealers so I assume you can get one from there as well.
Changing it was easy enough, just had to take the top plastic shield off where the wiper are to get access, the tank levers off out of the two rubber bungs, I didn't need to bleed the brakes at all after replacing it, quite straightforward really.
Forgot to post a resolution for this lol pretty much as you said Peter. The top tank is a supply tank which feeds in to the lower tank on the servo. We eventually found a part number and got it from Citroen and it was around the same price I think it was 28 quid but I get a special discount on Citroen parts and second line parts too. One hours labour on top and it was sorted.
