Hi all,
Want to replace my very basic head unit to something that has at least bluetooth. I don't have stalk controls so not worried about that, but I've read that any replacement head unit means you can no longer control the small dash screen (so cannot change time, display modes etc). Is that correct, or can some head units control this?
Any help much appreciated!
Thanks,
Duane.

The adapter you linked looks like it's intended to let you use the steering column controls on an aftermarket radio, which according to your first post you don't have / use.
Chances are that you have an RD4 head unit, AFAIK you need that head unit in order to set the date & time plus a few other options on the car. Some RD4's have Bluetooth, but cost a lost more than the basic model, or you can upgrade to the RD45, but will also need a different display (IIRC).
You can buy a Bluetooh adapter for the RD4 which will plug into the Aux-In at the back. I have one for sale if you're interested. Only problem I found with it are that the volume levels are a bit low.

I had a Connects 2 Bluetooth adaptor on my last Berlingo (2010 XTR) it fits into the socket on the back of the RD4 that the optional CD multi changer would have connected. It can fit inside the dash behind the radio (I strapped it to some other wiring) and it comes with a microphone that I fitted in the A-pillar trim. It paired up and connected reliably, enabled hands free telephoning, and streaming of any media from the phone. Was about £80 when I bought it

I added an aftermarket unit a few years ago, and would put the original unit back in twice a year for summer time corrections. Now I can't be arsed, so the clock in the dash screen is only right during the winter. Everything else is OK.
