Hello everyone
Please help if you can, I'll explain my issue below
My van is the 1.6hdi version, was getting all sorts of fault codes including p0606, so replaced the ecu with a immo off one from hdi tuning, also Blanked the egr valve, still getting fault codes the main 2 being p0606 EMS/PMS fault and with that getting a crankshaft position sensor fault.
I replaced this while changing the timing belt so it's a new one.
Not sure what else to do,
The engine stutters anywhere from 2500 revs up the way and even when idling won't go past 4k, it's like it starts hunting for air or fuel.
See attached photo with the most recent fault codes after the last drive.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
You have to check wires from CKP to ecu.
And also check engine ECU ground.
Symptoms you describe is bad signal from CKP sensor.
On low rev signal is acceptable. When you rev the engine signal goes bad
If you replaced CKP and ECU ,still getting the same problem than you have wires problem.
If you have oscilloscope you can check signal on ECU side from CKP.
That is the quickest way, but you need oscilloscope.
You can build one for 10$ it you have the time.
Disconnect your MAF sensor see if it makes a difference. Did you use a good quality crank position sensor, we had to swap a faulty one out even though it was brand new.
I'm having this issue too. Does it stutter like it's running out of fuel or in the wrong gear? I have to drop a gear and gently accelerate to try get past the stutter. Doesn't do it cold, only after around 10mins once hot and gets worse. I haven't taken any really long journeys since but I imaging after 30min or so it would be powerless.
This all started for me when changing the seals on my injectors but there are so many causes. I cleaned the mas because I was getting a code but it hasn't come back so probably not that . Still stutters when the mas is unplugged as well but maybe that's because it's broke? Who knows.
It's a real headache but I'm going to get the injectors tested as I think somethings not right. The only other thing I did (at the same time as the injector seals) was change the oil, air filter and fuel filter. I can't understand why any of that would cause it but perhaps its possible. Hope you get it fiqured out, if I have any luck I'll be sure to share it.
