Hi
Hope some one can help.
I have just found out that my berlingo has a speed limiter on it. didnt know this when i brought it.
its a 2016 enterprise model
it kicks in at 70 mph on the clock 67mph gps speed
the engine will not rev any more once you hit 70 mph no matter how hard you press the pedal.
is this standard factory spec or has it been added by the previous owner.
it has the tele trac sat nav thing , is this any thing to do with it ?
I did pop the glove box out to have a quick look to see if there was any thing hiding behind there, and there is just the box and speaker for the traffic master sat nav tele trac.
but there are two fuses marked E , but these come from the box for the sat nav, i think. so pulling these would just kill the nav i guess??
thanks for reading
kind regards

Hi mate, It's factory kit (optional) and is just part of your cruise control. Nothing to do with the teletrac or sat nav.
The cruise control lever is down under the indicator stalk, just change the upper limit or cancel it.
There is a ribbed switch on the front of the CC lever, top click position is "limit" (what yours is doing now), middle is off, and bottom is cruise control. Slide the switch to the middle position and just switch the limiter off. Now you can get radar-trapped to your heart's content (lol).

Hi
Thanks for your reply.
i have the cc switch in the middle setting all ready,so the factory fit limit should be off ?
even tried having it set to on and increasing the set limit to see if that made any difference.
it did not, so there must be a limiter some where else...
not that i intend on speeding , but some times you need a bit more to avoid things.

Maybe give these people a call..

Good call CC, I noticed today the limit can be programmed or removed in by Lexia / DiagBox.
It's probably what was done, a lot of companies seem to do it from what I read to prevent the drivers speeding.

I had a Vauxhall Combo van a while ago which had a 70 limit set on it, ex British gas van. I googled it but even the experts were having trouble removing the limiter on these apparently and were asking for donor vans so they could play with them to see how it was done.

In some of the vans, the actual ecu is set from build & cannot be changed.
Difficult to tell until we interrogate each ecu itself.

Thank you for all the replies.
will have to check if the limiter on the stork allows me to set a lower speed ?
not sure what that would prove ? but worth trying just for future reference

Just spoke to my son Isaac & the limiter will need to be removed on line to Citroen using pass through. This makes it more expensive as there is a €35 connection charge on top of our charge for Diag .
