Hi
I have a question about the fuel rail pressure sensor type, the one on the engine seemed to be malfunctioning and was marked 55PP0202-02 and then the second line was MYC
I got a replacement also marked 55PP0202-02, but the second line was marked MYB- does anyone know if this is the same or a different sensor- I still seem to have problems onece replaced- but the problems arnt quite the same
the one i bought off ebay said MYC in the photo but then when it came it was marked MYB, see pic
second question- what is the correct presure at idle and at other engine speeds (is there a table?)
(07-02-2020, 07:19 AM)Hi brajomobilit comes up with errors (P0191 P0193 P1164) - but the readings are not consistant- at one point it appeared that pressure was not reading (reading the max reading all the time) and it went into a kind of limp mode with low power, although currently not doing that. it has a second issue which is that intermittantly it wont start (just turns over) but then wait 10 minutes and it starts. ive swapped out the fuel regulator solonoid which didnt help and swapped the pressure sensor - and still have the same problems, also changed the fuel filter. Unplugging the fuel regulator solonoid gives the same non starting issues that I experienced, hence why I started by swapping that out. I think it could be some kind of electrical /wiring probelm - but not sure exactly where to start.I dont have lexia - but would be happy to buy that- is there a specific model of it I need and what software do I need? if I want to measure wth a scope what scope what is the best to use?are there any good instructions for use?if you could post a couple of links I would be very grateful, Id be happy to have a go with this.Jimbrajomobil Wrote: It is the same sensor. Second and third markings are
year manufacture and some specific factory production markings.
Can you describe the symptoms , before after.
Maybe you have problem with high pressure pump , not sensor.
Do you have lexia ? Any errors ?
There are members with lexia and 2.0 hdi they can tell you exact numbers.
I have 1.6 hdi, it will not be the same.
But, the only way to be 100% sure if you have faulty high pressure
sensor is to check it with oscilloscope. Or to replace it with known good one.
If you have an OBD reader, can you connect it to the Torque app and report what fuel pressures you get at idle, when cranking / starting, and at about 2000 RPM? I don't have a 2.0 any more, but if you post the figures maybe others will be able to give a view on them.
For Lexia, you'll need to do a bit of reading, I'm no expert on which one of the many eBay offerings are best.
ok yes i have the torque program and obd2 blutooth, ill get some readings
one problem im finding with that is that its not always finding the bluetooth device - i imagine this is a comleteley seperate issue which I will need to get top to the bottom of
Looking at your OBD numbers they seem ok.
Pressure is within range.
The thing that puzzles me is not starting issue.
Seems that ecu is not getting signal from sensor and does not
know what is the pressure and it will not start.
Same thing for limp mode. There is signal from sensor but is it not "correct",
hence limp mode.
I did do a bit of playing around with a scope and concluded all the sensors were working and that there was no signal to change the pressure solenoid when it didnt start, in the end it turned ut to be the crankshaft sensor which was £12 to buy on ebay and about an hour to fit- problemn gone!!
Bad CKP sensor is pig to spot if you don't have error code for it.
I have seen no error code on lexia and bad CKP sensor.
When you cranck engine you see rew needle jumping around.
That is the case for bad CKP. connect scope and you can see that is is bad.
