Teletrac sat nav tracker

Hi
My van has the Teletrac sat nav tracker system fitted.

now i dont have the nav unit fitted in the van, so there should be no power draw from that.??
But the tracker is still fitted some where, will this still be using power and be active even though i am not subscribed to the service ?

I have found two fuses behind the glove box  that look like they are part of the tele trac system ?? dont want to remove them in case it messes some thing up...
so if any one knows a bit more about this that would be great.

Do you have a battery drain problem? The Berlingo is famous for killing all accessories when the ignition is off . If your battery is draining over night, I'd be thinking of bsi issues. A reset might cure it.

I asked as i had some speed camera warning beeps from the speaker behind the glove box, even though the sat nav unit is not fitted and it got me thinking that is must be pulling some power from the tracker while the van is stood and possibly draining the battery if the van is not used for a while.

its a bit strange as the sat nav unit when plugged in wont plan a route , just shows my location.
and when its not plugged in i still get alerts for speed cameras..??

If you don't have a subscription, the teletrac doesn't do a thing as far as I can tell. I have it too, mine isn't subscribed and only shows location. I don't use it but it never beeps for speed cams...weird. it's apparently crap sat nav anyway but I'd have liked the tracker working.

It is very strange, defo no subscription as the sat nav just shows location, and no routes can be programmed.
i even tried to press the pa button to call the call centre but its just keeps saying called failed.

tested it again , and it beeps and shows speed camera on the nav unit when installed, and beeps from the speaker behind the glove box when the sat nav unit is not even in the van....

like you say the tracker function would be nice to have working, but there are far better sat navs out there.

think i may try and modify the cable for the sat nav to power my phone.

Yeah even the cable is old hat usb, there are converters out there tho. I planned to strip mine out and fit an ebay tracker, pretty cheap and no subscription

I plan on converting the usb cable to fit my phone , but re route the cable in to the drivers glove box and mount my phone/satnav on the centre dash.
at least this way the cable is out the way and wont get trapped in the drivers door.

need to look at how to remove the side trim by the existing cable to get it to run under the dash and in to the glove box, might have to drill a small hole in the inner of the glove box, but will have to see.

Update

I emailed the teletrac people and explained i had just got the van and that the sat nav was not working.
they told me its because the sim card had not been activated.
so they activated the sim card , and i now have 3 years sat nav smart routes and 3 years tracker service.
happy with that just for the tracker alone.
will reassess in 3 years.
