If you are thinking of wiring it to be on permanently rather than only when reversing you might like to have a look at this article.  Same rules apply to positioning of satnavs.

If you notice in that article, the rearview mirror is outside the A and B zones, not in the drivers direct view. My camera screen would be mounted where the mirror would be. I don't have a mirror with not having rear windows so it wouldn't be an issue. The zones are the swept areas of the wipers, drivers side being A and passengers is B. The screen is about 5" diagonally and would be as high as can be mounted. There's a missing area there where the wipers don't converge. Good point and article though, cheers mate. Objects in the those zones larger than 5mm are an MOT fail too technically, like a windscreen chip.

I can also mount it on the roof pod underside and again it would sit in the normal rearview mirror zone.

Odd comment in that article about an led screen that was on and the driver can see it, being illegal in the construction and use regs 1986....when was there ever an led screen in 1986...? Back to the future lol.

No more distracting having a rear view screen than a rear view mirror.
