Problems with radio bleeping
#1
We have a 2005 Berlingo. Last few months no end of probs with radio, interior lights etc etc.

Battery was changed for a new one by mechanic and most of the probs with interior lights randomly switching on or off, language changing on display, all lights coming on to dashboard whilst travelling (for no good reason) have gone now
BUT problem with radio has not. Started with radio bleeping continuously (this was before battery was changed) and then only tuning into MW and constantly searching for stations. Radio would switch itself on for a few minutes and then switch itself off. CD player would not work but then would switch itself on. These problems persist. If we switch the radio on deliberately some of the other problems recurr for a while.
Mechanic used the Lexia (?) scanner to try and determine the problem but inconclusive.

Any ideas ? should we buy a non-standard after market radio or can this one be fixed ? Do we need to input the radio code ?

Any advice would be helpful.

Many thanks

It sounds like you have a BSI unit that is playing up. The first thing I would do is a BSI reset, do a search on the site or google will help you hat to do. You have to be careful when changing batteries on these as if you havnt turned everything off when you connect the battery the BSI has a fit.
Are we there yet????? Huh

Mine had an aftermarket radio but it still was beeping. You may need a bsi reset followed by reconfiguration & radio recoding using Lexia. Make sure the correct bsi shutdown, restart procedures are adhered to.

My aftermarket radio started doing that, wouldn't even shut up when the engine was stopped and the key taken out, I took the radio out, disconnected the power, waited a couple of minutes and reconnected the power, it was fine after that.
