Computer Fuel Readout Stuck
#1
Car has just gone through an MOT.  It went through a diagnostic check to cure an ABS fault.  Not driven the car for a few days but on doing so today the fuel gauge is working but the computer read-out on the dash is registering more fuel than there is and also it is now stuck on this reading?  Could this be linked to the diagnostic check?  Does something need to be reset?

2012 year.

2012 year.

It may not have liked the diag was connected of the diag has upset the bsi.

Do a search on here or google Citroen BSI reset procedure - its not technical and very easy to do.

Let us know will you how you get on.

Just an ordinary computer - not touchscreen.

Car model ...

CITROEN BERLINGO MULTISPACE XTR AIRDREAM E-HD
YEAR 2012.

I found this with regard to resetting BSI ...

Quote:Don't buy a new Bsi (body control unit) for your Citroen until you have read this and tried a factory reset first. Very often the reset will solve a multitude of problems especially the ones that suddenly happened after you fitted a new battery to your Citroen or the ones that just 'appeared' form nowhere!

   Wipers stopped working?
   Central locking gone mad?
   Windows stopped working?
Indicators and lights doing their own thing?

All of the above can be caused by a nutty BSi and often a reset is all it needs so try this....

Put the driver's window down, lift the bonnet and ensure all equipment is switched off.
Ensure all doors are closed and remove key from the ignition.
Wait for 3 minutes, disconnect the vehicle battery and wait 15 seconds.
Reconnect the vehicle battery, wait a further 10 seconds (do not open doors.).
Switch on the side lights through the driver's window.
Switch on the ignition and check system's functionality.
Hold lock button on key down for 10 seconds.
Remove key open & close door test central locking system.
Start the engine and complete the system's check.

Failure to follow this procedure could result in incorrect operation of many BSI related items.

Found the above here ...

Looks a bit odd but worth a shot by the looks of it.

The BSI reset may help. Did you try the trip & average MPG etc reset by holding in the button at the end of the stalk?

Not yet.  Will have a go tomorrow.  Will have to familiarise myself with the owner's handbook first.

That reset procedure for the BSI is genuine. These cars and vans are bristling with electronics unlike older machines so the solutions become more technical with each passing year.

This turned out to be nothing at all. All I had to do was press the end of the right-side stalk (the one that operates the wipers). By the looks of it someone at the garage must have pressed it thereby altering the computer display choice on the screen. I had never messed with it before but on reading the owner's handbook I did. All I had to do was select the right one again Smile

Lol if I'd realise what you meant by stuck, I could have told you. The mode button on the stereo next to the volume also lets you choose what to display permanently, your phone screen, trip computer or radio display. The one on the end of the indicator stalk selects voice control (the van listens for a command), or play / pause media on the phone etc.

Mine says "please annunciate a command" - very french!!
