Heater Blower not working..
#1
Had the [quite common] fault appear on the B9 Multispace [2008] or the heater no working on any selections. Went for the relay first as everything seems to point to that as the most common cause. It wasn't that.

Ordered a resistor pack that turned up recently and had a chance today to practice being a contortionist in the driver's side footwell.

And I took out the plug and went to undo the screw that holds the pack in place........and another "curve ball" it's not a screw or even a torx headed bolt but just a normal hex headed bolt but it's tiny [smaller than 6mm] Smallest sockets and spanners I have are 6mm and they are too big.

Anyone know what size the bolt is please as I'm going to have to go out and buy a tiny socket tomorrow?

[Before any says it, I've tried getting a pair of pliers on it as it's only a small bolt but they keep slipping and there isn't really great access]

Answering my own question, someone at PSA has a weird sense of humour. The hex bolt head size on the resistor pack for the heater is 5.5mm !!! [I double checked this with some digital calipers when I got it out as I couldn't believe they used such a strange size]

Remembered I had bought a small set of metric spinners for working on computer building and the largest in the set was 5.5mm....

Replaced the resistor pack [it went back with a philips headed bolt] and guess what............It still doesn't work on any settings!!!

So have replaced both the relay and the resistor pack..............any ideas where I go next??

Going to have to get out the meter when I'm next off work to check for supply but the only other things in the system I assume are the selector switch and the actual blower fan??

Anyone got a wiring diagram of the system they would like to share please?

The selector switch, fuse, and wiring could all still be culprits. The switch should have 12v at one of the pins all the time I expect. I'd get the meter out mate.
