Hi. I'll start by apologising but I've looked through the forum and even Google but can't really get a definitve answer on this.
I have a key that opens the door manually and starts the car. However, the door lock is worn and takes a special kind of ritual to get it to turn and that doesn't work well when the rain is hammering down your neck! I need to get the key fob operating the central locking again.
The fob hasn't been used for that for ages because the switches broke off. However, with a new battery and shorting the pads where the switches were soldered doesn't do anything. I can't be certain therefore that the pcb is ok. I'm assuming not as it's been exposed for months. The pcb has a label with 'M59' and a barcode and 8 digit number.
So, the question here is this; If I buy a new pcb off Ebay, how can I get it working the central locking? Is there a work around or do I have to sell parts of my body to pay a main dealer?

Many thanks for any input.
find somebody with lexia/diagbox or buy from fleabay..then program it ur self....otherwise it will be locksmith/main dealer
Lexia / Diagbox is not needed to re-sync the remote locking part of a key, just the immo. But, AFAIK it's not possible to sync a remote that's already been used on another car so a 2nd hand remote from eBay probably won't work.
Best bet is to find a local locksmith that can clone the immo part of the old key to a new remote fob, sync the new fob and then you can keep the old one as a spare. It might be possible to use the immo chip from the old key in a new fob, but will depend on the locksmith.
There are key repair kits on ebay , they don't come with the circuit board , you use the old one, new switches are included in the kits which you solder on. I think if your wanting a new circuit board then its to the main dealer. New boards have to be programmed to the vehicle.
Then again if the lock is dodgy it may be that that's stopping things from working.

I bought one of these off eBay recently. Swapped the half with the cct board but couldn't figure how to get the blade part of the key out to transfer to the new fob, so just used the old half. When I contacted the seller later he referred me to a YouTube video which mentions having to transfer the transponder as well from the bladed portion. I didn't know the transponder was even there as a separate item!

UPDATE: So, having decided I really didn't want to spend a fortune on a new key to get over the original issue problem i.e. the key wouldn't turn in the door lock, I found an alternative. Pretty simple really, I swapped the lock barrel for the one in the passenger door! Having hardly been used it works like new.
Easily done; 1) remove internal door handle clip on cover and remove two torx screws and remove handle. 2) Unlcip door liner. It's held on by hidden clips, so prise it off with a large screwdriver one clip at a time 3) disconnect electrical connector to door speaker 4)Peel, or cut back inner foam 'shower curtain' sheet at the door lock corner to allow acces to lock from inside 5)Prise off black lozenge shaped cover in edge of door near lock.(it will probably break as not designed for easy removal but can be replaced later or cover hole with a neat patch of duct tape) 6) Looking though the exposed slot, there is a part visible with a hole in it. Using long nosed pliers or a suitable wood screw in the hole, pull that part towards you. It is the 'C' clip holding the lock in.7)Remove lock barrel after disconnecting lower end of connected rod. (swing plastic clip aside to allow removal at lower end), 8) Do the whole same thing on the other door. 9) swap the short actuator lever on the locks themselves. Easy done by removal of the circlip. 10) reassemble in reverse order. 11) job done.
Getting in and out of the car via the drivers side is now easy, rain or shine.
