Hi
Has any one else had trouble with there locking fuel cap?
i can some times unlock it no problem , but most the time its a real pita...
the key does not want to go all the way in to the lock on the cap.
i have tried both keys that i have, one is new and the other is new but been used for 3 months.
I think its the lock in the cap , as the keys open the doors no problem.
i have managed to get it off after about 10 mins fiddling about and fitted a non locking push fit type cap for now.
Any ideas?

hi, yes I had the same problem, I sprayed inside the keyhole with some spray on grease, I guess wd40 would help also, this seems to have solved mine ok for the last few months, just spray inside the keyhole with one of them thin plastic tubes that fit into the spray can cap and then keep working the lock with the key whilst holding the cap

Try rubbing a pencil lead on the key, try to get a decent coating of the pencil graphite on the key blade and push it in and out of the lock, do this a few times.
The graphite will lubricate the lock and the key should go into the lock a lot easier.

Tried the above methods , but still no joy.
the key will only go in half way then stops.
looks like its time for a new fuel cap.

Is it not possible to take it apart as it's probably just a jambed tumbler.

Give it a good hosing of WD-40 with the straw in the keyhole and after a while the key should be rammed in and out till it releases the tumblers. If you sit it in a cereal bowl and fill the keyhole with WD-40 till it comes out several times, it should free up, unless some clot has pushed something into it like a paperclip...don't have any neighbour dispute going on do you? Lol.
