Turbo upgrade
#1
Im just sourcing the parts for my power upgrade on my 2015 1.6hdi 75hp Berlingo.
The 259 injectors are easy to get hold of and so to the turbo,I have noticed however that the ford unit doesn’t have the electronic sensor on the actuator.
Do I need a Citroen unit or can I transfer my old one across?
The turbo I’m looking at is the 1544v Garret unit.

IIRC, the higher powered engines have a VNT turbo as opposed to the 75 & 90 BHP engines which have a fixed vane turbo? If so, there may be a few other bits & pieces needed to get the boost working properly. Is it not enough to get a remap up to approx 130BHP with no injector or turbo changes?

I can map to 115hp with std turbo and injectors.
Mapping is same cost for 145hp but I need injectors and bigger turbo.
It all bolts on so it’s an easy conversion.
Just need clarification on actuator sensor.

75bph and 92bph engines have wastegate turbocharger but even on this without any more modifications you can get easily 125bph and around 300nm. If you really want to swap for different turbo best choices is gtd1244vz but as you know VTG and is more complicated to do software is not basic Remapping... Another thing is when you a cross 320nm you will have another problem clutch. I did last time 92bph engine so I will try later to put dyno graph...

My mistake was that I didn’t know that there was a 16v version of this engine.
The 259 injector and turbo combination I initially mentioned are for the 16v.
I have been corrected now and will probably go for a straight re map to 120.
I agree about the clutch problems that might arise at bigger torque numbers.

I thinking same basic remap is OK if you not plan to going more then 320nm ??
