Mk1 berlingo indicator problwm

I have a 750 hdi 1.6 2011 berlingo 
Just started having trouble with the front left indicator occasionally it works for 2 seconds then stops and does that fast blink thing. Then after the first attempt it wont even work for 2 seconds it just faat blinks the rear indicator and the little one on the front wing. Is this a relay or stalk or bulb problem any ideas thanks

Change the front bulb it sounds like it's defective.

Ok thanks I did take it out to have a look but it seemed.ok I will try a  ew one tomorrow

You need to see the bulb working. Sometimes the filament looks intact but is burnt out. A fast repeating indicator can can be caused by a blown bulb.

Absolutely correct. Unless the holder is corroded - could be connection to the bulb if not a blown bulb. But as others said, that's the No1 reason.

Well today I quickly swapped bulbs and hey presto it works. Thanks all who helped
