Adding usb to head unit

I have a 2012 berlingo but it's bog standard spec can I add a usb to the head unit or have I to change the head unit.all I want to do is play music from the phone tru the head unit.at the moment it's not possible

I just paired my phone to the head unit, no cables required,

Does the menu invoked from the buttons below the stereo to the right hand side mention mobile telephone or Bluetooth? If so, you have it already. If not, you don't. Not all models of stereo do (OEM ones). Mine has hands free calls and music as standard in the enterprise model but others don't. Depends what spec was when bought new. These functions can't be added to the basic stereo if not already present. You may have a USB connector in the glove box, some do.
