3 Button Remote on Vans?
#1
Does anyone have a van (or car ) with a 3 button remote that can unlock the back door(s) only?
I'm wondering as I recently needed to get a locksmith out to fix my door lock, he supplied a new remote key fob with 3 buttons as opposed to the original with 2 buttons.
The 3rd button does not work on the tailgate at the moment, but I did hear a faint click from the BSI when I pressed the middle button so I'm wondering if there's a fuse, or jumper missing somewhere.

Hey mate, yes my keys (early 2015) have 3 buttons. The centre button operates the rear doors and side loading doors. Very handy when I forget to hit the dash button to unlock the cargo doors before I hop out

Interesting. Maybe there's an option in Diagbox to activate that function.
Many thanks.

Mine too, the middle button unlocks rear and side doors. You can probably code it in DiagBox.

I realise I'm coming at this a bit late.  Big Grin

A second press of the front door unlock button (the lower button) will also open the rear doors. (on mine any way)

That's right, mine does too. A second press within a second when locking, engages the deadbolts so the doors can't even be opened from the inside. I always lock it like this at night. Just press lock-lock and the indicators will stay lit for a few seconds, showing deadbolts are engaged.

Two presses on unlock, and all doors are open whether deadlocked or not.

That's interesting. I wondered what that second click was when pressing the lock button for a second time. So how do the dead locks work? Do they physically mate the door to the the van body?

My 'open doors' button doesn't open the cargo doors no matter how many times I press it.

Same here with our van.  The second press for activating the deadlocks must be done within 5 seconds from the initial press of the lock button (according to the manwell and actual operation).

My 'open doors' button doesn't open the cargo doors no matter how many times I press it.

A physical solenoid bolt jams the locks from being opened, even from inside. Your BSI programming may have been altered to prevent the cargo doors being opened from outside using the keys?

Yes my 2009 has 3 buttons open close and back doors. Can be programmed in diagbox or lexia. Have done this for a couple of friends. and disable the auto rear door lock and seatbelt alarm
