Why does the report button not work?
#1
Tried everything, no popup even though pop ups are allowed. I use a Samsung tablet and an S9 to view the site. Also adverts are driving me nuts, especially when I shouldn't see any....

If I use the report button it locks my screen up, this is using Chrome or Edge browsers

Hi

It's kind of working - when you click the button it is meant to display a modal window (OK so that's just what we old timers know as a popup (kind of)).

Trouble is that the modal is being displayed at the foot of the page and, as the page css is set to overflow:hidden, you cannot see it or scroll down to it (on my machine here I even lose the scroll bars)

The page looks frozen as the invisible modal window blocks the page activity and you cannot unblock it.

Solution is for our leaders to tweak the css for the modal

Ah ok. Modal window....only vb6 programmers call it that lol (:wink). Also the zoom level on a phone, decides how big or small the text you post, ends up...

The windows tend to display in odd places for some reason, the alerts one never shows up for me.

You could try manually submitting:

Paste that into a browser address bar:

https://www.berlingoforum.com/report.php...pid=XXXXXX

or maybe

https://www.berlingoforum.com/report.php...pid=XXXXXX

substitute the post number for XXXXX - post number you can get by mouseover any of the 'reply', 'quote' or post number (e.g. #4) and you'll maybe see a pid=123456 - no idea how you do that on one of those new fangled wireless telephone things though - nor if the report.php page will respond correctly for data sent from outside a modal.

vb6? Nah - all the basic I learned was BBC flavoured around 1984-88 :-)

Haha! Now you're talking, I did my first college programming module on a BBC micro in 1982. My dad built a zx80 from a kit on the dining table when I was 15, that got me hooked.

I went into vb6 in later life as a test engineer after a few years fighting with C and assembler.

I'm an electronics engineer who wrote software rather than the other way round. Now I write PLC code for a living.

@GraemeT: Thanks for mentioning CSS.

I've made a fix to .CSS file. It's working fine now. You just need to clear your browser cache to download new CSS files (you can try using CTRL + F5 shortcut).
