I bought a 2016 34 k mile Berlingo 6 weeks ago and whilst it's not been in use over lockdown I've been trying to sort a battery drain. Battery is fine: I found that if I lock it with the key it fires up on the button after 7 days standing but now if I lock it with the remote it's completely flat after only 2 days. Is it likely to be the BSI unit? It must be drawing a heck of a lot of current to flatten a good battery after 2 days. Should I attempt to reset the BSI as the next step forward? I'd be grateful to receive any ideas. Many thanks.

Welcome to the forum.
If you lock it with the key, can you unlock it with the remote?
There's a thread on here from a couple of weeks ago about battery drain, IIRC it turned out to be the battery.

Hi
When locking with the key does this disable the alarm ?
and when you lock with the fob does this arm the alarm?
hence why the battery is lasting longer?
does your van have the navman tracker thing fitted ?
mine has the tracker and alarm, and it kills the battery if i leave it for a week or so.
battery currently out on bench being charged and then will be tested to see if it holds its charge better over a week not connected to the van.
new battery in jan this year so should be good.....i hope..

Do you have the navman tracker installed in your van ?
they came fitted from the factory.
I believe this to be my drain on my battery....plus the alarm

Yes I believe I have the tracker and satnav system (it's an Enterprise).
I had the multimeter on it today and there's a 1.5amp drain. When I remove the immobiliser fuse it drops to around 30 ma so it seems pretty conclusive. But no idea how to fix it! Incidentally I've had another 2013 Enterprise from new (plus a 2012 Peugeot Partner) with tracker and the original battery never goes flat.

thought it might be that or the tracker.
will test mine when i put the battery back on the van.
it seems to be holding its charge sitting on the bench...
whats the rating of your battery ?
my current one is 62 ah 550 cca not sure if it should have a bigger Ah one on??

my battery that is fitted is a type 027 62 ah 550 cca
which was new when i got the van in jan this year
think it should have a type 096 78 ah 780 cca ???
not a massive difference but may be the difference it needs to cope with the draw from the tracker and alarm ?

I'll check that. No battery is meant to cope with a 1.5 amp draw though. A 78 Ah battery will be flat in a little over 2 days at that rate.

so is holding a charge. not underload.
