Resetting BSI on latest models
#1
I have the latest Berlingo Flair1.5D 130 has done 5300 miles from new July 2019
The stop start has completely stopped working.
I found the +Ve battery spring clip terminal loose.
Is it possible the BSI will need to be reset.
When the car stops at traffic etc even after 1hrs running, all I get is the s/start green warning blinks3/ 4 times then goes out.
Engine never stops .
It was working ok till about 4500 miles then this fault happened.
If BSI is likely does the latest model have its reset as per previous Berlingo's ie open driver window, key in 15 seconds, battery terminal off for 3mins etc

If your car is less than 1 year old is it still under warranty? If so, I'd take it back to the dealer and simply say that the stop / start is no longer working.

Have to agree with @cancunia.  If you start messing with the BSI whilst under warranty and something goes wrong it could cost you a lot of money!  If the dealer starts stalling citing the current virus situation just make sure that you have reported the problem before the expiry of the warranty then leave it up to them to sort out.  Also it is vital that ALL communications are in writing or email to provide a 'paper trail' - any phone calls MUST be confirmed in writing.  It's best if you do the confirming even if the dealer calls you.

Judging by your location you will either be using Yeomans or Richmonds for servicing and warranty?

My dealer up in Farnham is opening the garages back up next week so it might be worth finding out if the ones down here are doing the same?

Is anyone aware of the +Ve " sprung " clip on terminal to the battery and possibly aware of them coming loose?

Mine had its 1st service 6th of April, since then stop/start had not worked at all, it used to cut in all the time, now was only getting flashing  green symbol.
Phoned dealer they said it would be nothing to do with the service and  I needed to book it in for a day for diagnostics, miraculously yesterday it started working again on its own nearly a month on and 500 miles from service.

It's likely that your battery is not holding enough charge for the stop / start to work, or the monitoring systems think that's the case. The battery warranty is likely to be no more than a year, so it's best to get this problem looked at or at least registered before much longer.

Right, after all this time, I have had the car 1st serviced.
Prior to this the stop/ start ONLY worked occadionally above15C below20C.
There were 6 other faults.
Auto lights intermittent.
Auto wipers not worked.
Lane depart warnings lamp not showing.
Passenger glove box not fitting ascorrevtly.
Passenger dash panel end not fitting .
The service warning has re set 3 times, in each case warning service due a month ahead- this happend ( from new) 1 month 3 months and 6 months( just a lockdown).
I did a 450 mile trip to Dartmoor ( wildcamping) stop start did not work once.
Post service/ warranty work
ALL working fine, stop start so far only not worked once today a 28C heat.
Was working with air con full on.
Odd.
The best bit for me is as soon as I drive the car out tye garage, the car felt " peppier".
Now in 6800 miles the car has averaged 52.2 miles per gallon (130D manual).
Incredibly we had a trip out today 3 adults a bit of beack gear, did 80 miles.
Average 62.7mpg, my best long run prior was about 57mpg with just me and no load.
So clearly a software upgrade has vastly changed the car,I suspect the reboot has altered the sensors within the cabin, as it was clearly there were too many WRONG conditions.
With regards the economy, the same thing happened to my last car (1.1 diesel Hyundai i20) where I complained at first service thst every 15mil3s ( steady 60/70 mph) I could feel power drop.
What happens with diesels is they " dump" fuel into the catylist to burn off contaminants, BUT clearly too much was being dumped.
For interest the mpg went from 55 to 65- easy to do as at least once a fortnight for 5 years I was doing the same Fareham to Bournemouth route

Oh, though minor, post service the on going fuel readout WAS quite slow to change, NOW the change in current mpg is quite rapiad a reading

As a further post script, I toured S/W Scotland for a week, the average mpg went up to 60mpg, upon return a week on toured north Devon ( fun in traffic 7 hrs there 8 hrs back).
My current mpg at 9500 miles from new is 57.7
