Berlingo DW8 advance solenoid knocking ?

Hi, new member, first post. 2007 1.9d DW8 engines van.
Intermittent heavy diesel knocking both hot and cold. Starts first time, no engine light and P1689 fault code.
I have checked resistance of lift pin injector and have power to it and 120ohmns across it which appears to be a little high as most say it should be 95-100 ohms and if I disconnect while running makes no difference. Had advance solenoid out and its clicking ok with a battery bench test but if the end of it is a plunger it's not moving also disconnecting it while running makes the engine run a little lumpy but knock is still there. Fitted a clear fuel hose and no air in supply.
Any suggestions before I start replacing parts ?
