Hello all,
does anyone know if the rear axle from a 2018 model would fit a first gen 2002 model ?
Any help appreciated.

No.
Look up M49 / M59 rear axle to get an idea of what they look like, then look up a B9 rear axle and you will see that the setup is completely different.

It is confusing to talk about Mk1, Mk2 etc.
Citroen Designations are M49, M59, B9 and K9
M49 and M59 share the same bodyshell and have a torsion bar rear axle.
M9 and K9 are similar to each othere in looks but there are major body differences and they both have coils prung rear suspension
