radio smeg , engine error
#1
Hi, I need advice. At the Berling B9 2015, I replaced the original SMEG 7" radio with an android radio. I turned off the telematics unit in the BSI, but I still have a motor error and the diagnostics show that the transmission and motor are not communicating with the BSI. Can't someone advise what else needs to be turned off or programmed? Well thank you.

Maybe the Radio is coded to the BSI or ECU like it is in my MK7 Ford Fiesta, then it may have cause the van to immobilize due to it thinking the radio is stolen or something. Also for my own learning what does the in built in telematics in the BSI do on the B9 apart from the obvious ?.

Telematics does tracking and GPS but it's a subscription service. The radios are coded to the VIN as per the BSI and checked over CANBUS. A fault on the CANBUS wiring after removal could cause issues.

the car is running normally, only the engine warning light is on.

The warning light then is because of the Comms error between the engine and BSI, nothing to do with the stereo.

You will need to visit a Citroen dealer with coding facilities then. Or put the radio back.
