If you have full workshop facilities then I’d say go for it.
I’d say it needs-
Full loom swap probably incorporating door and light looms etc.
Fuel tank might not accept a suitable pump.
Gearbox mount possible differences.
Driveshaft length/thickness.
Exhaust fabrication.
Gear linkages and lever.

I’ve looked at this sort of thing before when I had my VW caddy and even though all vag group parts are same it’s still not a weekend job.
How many caddy’s have a 1.8 or 2.0 turbo conversion?
Not many!

If you’ve got time/money and a workshop with plenty of room then there’s no reason not to give it a go but it will be a long process.

I think that TDI tunings gtd1244vz conversion is achievable for £700 and will take an afternoon,if you also changed the exhaust for £300 you’d see 150+ hp.
I’d say 307 gti swap will be at least £2000 plus 2 months messing around.

yeah have the space ect and have thought about tank ect the 308cc and partner have the same floorplan wheel base ect psa pf2,platform so tank, exhaust shafts brakes wheels ect will all be swapped was hoping id get away with interior loom ect and unsure if id need to to source a 140 bhp 5 speed ,as for cost my vans parts will recoup some outlay for the 307 ,my van has crunch in 4th and now a leaking power seeering rack rear shock feel bit soft so nearly needs an overhaul anyway just need a decent donor now lol but thanks for the replys!
