[Filters & Oil] pollen filter size/OEM number
#1
Silly question but I just tried to buy a new pollen filter, but even with my exact model selected in both eBay and a car parts supplier (http://www.autodoc.co.uk/), several different sizes of filter, with several different OEM numbers, came up as all being suitable for my car!

Surely not?

I have searched the forum as well, but none of the pollen filter threads I read cover this point.

Any advice welcome.

On my M59 2008 multispace  with aircon it said there was two compatible pollen filters but guess what brought one and it didnt fit. My filter is the usual flat panel with plastic frame but if you look at it in profile one edge is not flat it goes to a point. The filter that fits mine is a Mann CU2225 or try the ALCO MS-6018 . It only takes two minutes to pull the old filter I would check what you have first before ordering just to be on the safe side. Ps with its slant on one end the filter only goes in one way.
Hope this helps.

Thanks both for your help. Yup, I did indeed post this in the wrong forum - I have a B49. I'm sure I was looking at the B49 forum at the time... ah well.

That eBay seller does have one which supposedly fits, and it is pointed at one end, but I will pull mine out and measure it just to be sure! Didn't think it would be that easy to get at.

Have you tried putting your VIN into catcar and then find the pollen filter, the part number there should be the exact one.

Thanks Zion, but I still have the problem I had when I first joined the forum last year - the VIN isn't recognised (https://www.berlingoforum.com/thread-18748.html). Same with Catcar just now. I never solved this before because I was ill over most of autumn last year, but it now looks like I'll have to get Lexia going on a laptop to find out what the VIN really is.

On my M59 model it takes about 2 minutes to pull the pollen filter. that is the easiest way to identify which type of filter you have.
