Reintroducing myself
#1
Hi everyone,

Its been over a year sinds I last been active here, so I figured id might reintroduce myself now that im planning on getting a Berlingo again.
Im Erik, 23 years old and I live in the Netherlands.

I left when I had to leave the company cars behind and get my own car, a C3. Sadly last year I had to  get rid of the C3 when its gearbox started failing and the Dutch govrement introduced some very high taxes on older diesel engines. As a replacement I bought a 2003 Volvo v70 on LPG. The Volvo turns out to be a lemon and became "beyond repair" last week.

Im now looking into buying a Berlingo 5 seater (or maybe a Partner) again. I still really like how they drive and they are not as expansive to maintain.
Sinds diesel is no longer an option (and not needed sinds I dont need her for work anymore) im looking into a petrol one.

I have not much experience with these petrol engines, so im hoping to find more information on the forum.
The older 1.4 seems a little small for the van so im looking into either the older 1.6i or the newer 1.6 vti. I cant find much information on the 1.6i, but I did read some stories about oil use being an issue on the vti one.

The search is over Smile Today I bought a 2007 Peugeot Partner Zenith. I really like the windows in the roof and being a Zenith its also almost full option.
I can pick up the car next friday and I will upload some pictures as soon as I can.

I tried finding a Berlingo with the modutop, but for some reason they are almost twice the price of a simular Partner, and all Berlingo's I checked out were very used and not good looking anymore.

Does anybody know why a Berlingo is so much more expansive then a Partner? As they are identical, I have no idea.

Hello Mission.

No, no idea why they are more.

My Diesel M49 Berlingo now has 318,000k on the clock, and i am very glad it is diesel, they are great. I doubt petrol are so cheap to run so i would be sad not to have a diesel car and and i have three, with two very old ones i will not move to Holland i think.

Welcome back.
It's a 2001 1.9d with 322,500 k on the clock.

Thanks, and yeah best not to come to Holland. To give you an idea about how bad our taxes are; My 1.6 petrol does 52 euro road taxes a month. The 1.6 diesel version does 120 euro a month. And dont get me started on fuel prices, its a absolute joke.

The 1.6 petrol was a nice suprise for me, sure its not the fastest in the world but its not slow either and it does its job fairly quiet as well.
