Hi All,
My door won't latch open, the hook is free to move, it it looks like it dosn't quite seem to latch over.
Does anyone have any ideas? Is it just a spring or something? I read a lot about this door pin thing, but the door itself is opening and closing fine, it's just not latching open.
Thanks,
Dan

Which side is it? Our passenger side sometimes needs a bit of a push to open all the way.
So where does this bit go then ?

Hi all (especially ffrenchie - thanks for replying),
In case anyone stumbles cross this thread in the future I did solve it.
The spring loaded part of the mechanism (the hook at the bottom corner of the door) was free to move back and forth, but there'a a small arm attached to the release cable that the hadle pulls on. The pivot was absolutely jammed solid. Managed to fix it (mostly) with a boatload of silicone lubricant and about half an hour of bashing it forwards and backwards with a hammer and drift. Carefully! It's very flimsy.
It's free now and latches on nicely. UN-latching to close the door again requres a little push on the door towards the rear, looks like whatever's in the door mechanim isn'tquite strong enough to pull the cable it's full length against the hoook. Not really an issue to me. I've got a rear axle to replace so a minor inconvenience is neither here nor there!
