How can I mount string of Led fairy lights on roof lining.

Which would be the best way to fasten the light string to the roof lining without doing any damage or leaving any marks. Has anyone used the very small map pins?  I have bought a 10m warm white string (that runs of a power bank that I had) with a remote control and usb plug of ebay for £3.93 and I am very impressed. What have you used with success? Any advice or suggestions will be most welcome. I have posted this in general chat but maybe this is the best place for advice

Neodymium magnets - strong enough to "see" the steel roof through the headliner? Plenty on eBay in different shapes and sizes.

I've just ordered some Neo magnets , to see what uses I can use for them i.e. holding curtains up , makeshift shower curtain on back of tailgate . its nice to know that can 'see' the roof through the head liner

If they are strong (large) enough, they will. Neo's if larger than a shirt button can pull enough to pinch skin, and large ones can crush bone if allowed to fly together un controlled, so take it easy with those bad boys!

They can attract each other from nearly a metre away. 20x10mm buttons are very strong and will hold to steel with a high force. You wouldn't be able to pull a 30x20mm one off a car panel with your hands...

I ordered 8mm x 1.5mm , I can always use for other things but will see how they are especially after sewing into fabric

Sounds good. Don't be tempted to hot glue them, as their permanent Curie temperature is only about 180c so you can render them useless by heat at that level (glue melt temp) and they are made by sintering, so brittle to impact. Coating them in clear nail varnish stops damp lifting the nickel finish off.
