Intermitent power and cruise control issue

Hi all, Ive searched the forum but cant see anything similar to this fault in the solved section.

1.6 M-Sp Vtr Hdi 90 (58 plate)

We are getting intermittent / limited power, where the car doesn't seem to pull until it hits 30mph or so. This is intermittent and seems to vary between turning the car on and off. This morning we did a 15 mimute drive, all worked fine, then parked up, came back to the car set off again and no pull.

We have noticed this is linked to the cruise control. If the car is working correctly, then the cruise control can be set. If its not pulling, then even at 60 to 70 on the motorway the cruise control wont "lock in"

Anyone else had a similar fault ?

You need to get it plugged in to Diagbox.
The cruise control has nothing to do with the fault, the Ecu will stop it working when there is a fault in the system.

I had a similar issue on my M59, as above, if there's an engine problem, CC will not work.

I took it to the garage, and turns out it was a simple fix. They said it was the EPG valve in the exhaust was stuck with carbon deposits. They took it out and cleaned it up, and have not had the issue again since.

EPG? Maybe EGR?
