Which would you go for if you were buying? Am i right in saying that the XTR has a more powerful engine but the Plus has more equipment as standard?

Kind of depends on what age you are considering, and what features you desire.
I test drove a 2016 XTR and was very disappointed in the touch screen interface, it's truly awful, and, as its not DIN sized or fitment I knew replacing it with something functional would be costly and difficult.
This alone was enough to put me off the newer XTR models.
I actually ended up buying a 2013 Plus, and there are a few things I wish it had from the XTR...... Tinted windows, roof bars and a centre console storage bin, and possibly cruise control.
The 3 rear seats in XTR are separate where as the plus has a 2/3 split arrangement.
Other than that, I can't find an official spec sheet which shows what else I might be missing so I'm only going by memory of the XTR I test drove.

No problem Dave, cheers for the parkers link.
As your looking at about the same age as mine, do feel free to ask me any questions, its sitting on my driveway so easy for me to check anything.
One thing I forgot to mention, the 2016 XTR I looked at had a tailgate window which swung open as well as the tailgate it's self. Hope that makes sense, like what happens on most range rovers.
This might be another consideration for you as if you will be spending any time in the back while parked or think you might struggle to open the full tailgate when parked it allows easy access to things on top of the parcel shelf.
Also the parkers guide says the plus comes with electric drivers seats... mine doesn't have them so not sure parkers is 100% accurate.
I sympathise with your dilemma, I went through the same thing a month back, there seems to be a myriad of different trim levels on this age of berlingo and its not easy attempting to decipher what they all include.
If you google "berlingo multispace brochure 2012" the top result will give you a PDF of the options available back then, but the "plus model" came later I believe.
Best of luck
John

Cheers John, I'll find the brochure and put a little less faith in parkers then.
Like the look of the tailgate windows but it's on my "nice to have" list rather than "must have". If it ends up on the "must have" list I'll just be making even things harder for myself!

For info - I bought a s/h Plus - 61 plate - which I've been v happy with. Spec includes air con & alloy wheels, and radio & CD which is fine for me. I added aftermarket roof rails w detachable cross members. The roof rails simply screw into the existing fittings. Smoother profile too.
Only XTR extra that is a 'nice to have' for me would be cruise control. I don't trust complex in car GPS/map gizmos in terms of reliability cost so I use my phone with power via the 12V socket when on long trips.

I remember reading in this forum in the past, that cruise control can be retro-fitted to most [all?] Berlingo B9 shape vehicles, if you need it and from memory it wasn't that expensive.
Someone like Lighty [Mark Lightfoot] who posts regularly on the forum and has a garage that services Berlingos amongst other vehicles would be able to confirm

My XTR didn't come with cruise control but I brought the steering wheel stork and did the necessary with Lexia. All of the necessary wiring was there ready
I live in rural Ireland with its undulating roads and am thankful for the large 1/4" steel plate underneath the engine and gearbox protecting them.

Can anyone with a Berlingo B9 car, tell me where their passenger airbag deactivation key switch is? I have a weird fault appeared on my SRS Airbag controller which says "7362 Passenger airbag disarming switch warning lamp fault" but I don't have a passenger airbag in the van...so I thought I'd try looking at where the switch should be. And, anyone know where this lamp is meant to be?

On my 2013 Berlingo MPV the air bag switch is on the piece of trim below the A pillar on the drivers side.
You need to have the drivers door open to see it as it is on the end of the dashboard which is hidden when you shut the door.
Hope that makes sense and yours is in the same position.
As for the lamp, the only warning I get when I switch off passenger airbag is a orange symbol directly underneath the milometer/trip display between the speed/rpm dials.
