Cooling fan not engaging

Hi my air con has stopped working 2009 1.6hdi xtr had it regassed recently and there is plenty of gas in system it was fine on Wednesday running ice cold then next day stopped working, I have found the cooling fan is not engaging at all even when  gauge goes over 90, I jumped  fan resistor relay (the one located in the fan cowling) and cooling fan ran so have just replaced the relay as suspected faulty but no joy.

Checked related fuses but all ok, I'm sure the air con is ok its just not coming on due to the fan n/w.

Anybody got any ideas or whether there's another relay somewhere?

So the fan relay is not being powered on at the coil pins. Jumpering the output is only one side of it. The coil is controlled from the ECU or BSI (can't remember which one) by reading the CTS (coolant temperature sensor) which in turn, brings the relay in and that powers the fan. You need to trace further back. No cooling fan will cause bigger issues than no Aircon.

So I've found the problem now it's the high pressure switch, gave it a whack with a screwdriver and the compressor kicked in plus fan engaged, so will hope it keeps going then when it needs a regass I'll get it replaced. 
Just got to change the weeping water pump now. ?

Good stuff, glad it's working. Weeping water pump.....that's not so trivial but if you are going to do it, along with the timing belt, you're good for another heap of miles.

Thanks yeah I only changed the belt last year along with the pump in April so not lasted long and obviously out of warranty. But that's Sod's law I guess.
