Looking a bit of advice regarding the spring fixings holding the front exhaust section to the exhaust manifold.
I am replacing the entire exhaust system bar the cat which is excellent condition. I have refitted everything and also installed a new mesh donut between the exhaust and the manifold.
I was just wondering when tightening the two nuts to the spring system on the manifold, are these tightened fully up until they stop against the shoulder on the bolt, or do you back them off a bit against the spring tension to leave the ability for movement in the exhaust in either direction.
