Berlingo 2006 2.0 HDI Clutch Pedal Torsion Spring at Top Broken

Afternoon all, first post after some extensive searching on my issue.

The torsion spring at the clutch pivot bolt has snapped on my 2006 Berlingo 2.0 HDI (with cable clutch), contrary to all of the results I have found regarding clutch pedal springs, this is not the compression/tension 'helper' spring located toward the bottom of the pedal.  The spring in question is similar in shape to that used in a traditional clothes peg.

The clutch pedal still operates near normal although the motion is less than smooth and a little sticky, i've been searching for hours for a replacement but cannot find anything close (all results are for the helper spring).  Any assistance to help me find the part or guide on how to replace it would be appreciated.

Here's a diagram, but there looks to be no torsion type spring on the m59 pedal assembly?

Best thing is to put your vin number into http://www.catcar.info and change language to English, then check the section on the clutch for diagrams and part numbers. What you may be seeing is a broken cable guide? (Item 12) or item 13 in the second diagram, depends on the OPR number on the B post sticker of your driver's side door frame.

Thanks for your quick reply.  You’re right, neither diagram appears to show it, but it is there, I’ve taken another photo from below which clearly shows it, I can orientate the two halves into what looks very much like their home position.

My VIN doesn't compute on that site but manually navigating (OPR appears to be 10824FV) there is no obvious part showing, part 8 below looks like the closest but is still ambiguous.

I was loath to disassemble as it’s driving ok but I have done an discovered that the spring is captive within the pedal assembly and as such not replaceable alone (see attached). So it looks like I’ll need a new assembly from Citroen and new mortgage.

Ah yeah weird eh? It does look integral. Odd they don't even show it on the diagram. I would hunt eBay or a scrappy to get a used pedal, there must be some for sale. Just search breaking Berlingo or just clutch pedal etc
