Hi,
I have a 5 year old berlingo which would regularly return 300 miles for half a tank on mixed journeys, 340 for M/W, its just did 380. I then filled it up, now it has done 50 miles and I'm down 2 marks on the gauge. I have looked for leaks with the engine running but found nothing and don't see a obvious fuel patch when the van is parked.
Any thoughts would be appreciated

Brakes binding or tyres soft?

I don't think so, it was quite a dramatic change, it seemed to start from when I filled up

I was wondering if it was dodgy fuel, I will need to fill up again to check the gauge, but was going to use as much fuel as possible in case it was the fuel. Is there a way to check the gauge?

The tank should be say 55L from empty, you'd know by how much it takes at the pump. I can't believe fuel quality is to blame, what is your trip computer showing for long term consumption? Has that dropped significantly? Or maybe since diesel foams up when dispensed, the pump was horsing it in and it clicked off early on the foam as often happens, and you assumed it was full, when it wasn't. Did it take less litres than normal on that fill up?

It might be worth checking the fuel cooler for damage (under the van below the driver's seat). We had a bit of road debris fly up and puncture ours and it only leaked when the engine was actually running. It is fitted in the return pipe back to the tank. The part was £150!!!!! Why Citroen didn't put a shield over it I shall never know.
