Was there ever an option to have an MPG display on this version of the berlingo, to show up in the centre radio display?
If there was is there a way to activate it with lexia or any other way to get an MPG display without using an extra product like Torque?

I don't think it can be added mate. If you have a button on the end of the wiper stalk that presses inwards, try that and see if anything changes but not sure if it was even an option on the M59. I could be wrong of course but that's where the button should be on later models. My old M59 vans didn't have the trip computer.

I did wonder if it was ever fitted to any of them as it isn't mentioned in the manual. I've tried the buttons on the central display but they just alter the clock, haven't looked at the wiper stalk, will have a look when it's stopped raining and see if there's a button.
The centre display would be prime for having an mpg display, shame they didn't.

As said you need the button on the R/H stalk then you can swap out the MFD for a later type - lots of posts in archive on this topic ....... I did the swap and reported it on the Forum here :
https://www.berlingoforum.com/thread-799...#pid121269
The above was on an '07 M59 and no Lexia work needed just plug and play.
My '06 didn't have the button in question.
I understand if no button on the stalk you can retrofit but unsure about Lexia with this, as search will clarify for you unless someone else posts up.

What M59 are we talking about?
My 2007 Zenith has the MPG display. Also shows a lot more information like error codes and reminders.

I had a late '08 and it didn't have it, not even an outside temperature display. Must depend on model spec from new.

Yes, the M59 can have the central console display (MFD type B, 3-line display) with external temperature as well. I have them both and there were not factory installed.
It has been covered before and here are the links, there are probably a few more here and there.
Fitting the stalk button

A pdf of how I fitted the external temperature sensor and how to connect the wiring in the door loom
https://www.berlingoforum.com/thread-8371.html
The door loom
https://www.berlingoforum.com/thread-4053.html
If you are buying second hand display MFD type B, they will always fade from the heat, here is how to get rid of it:
https://www.berlingoforum.com/thread-7997.html
Display does not need activation with Lexia/PP2000, but the temperature sensor does and the MPG or board computer.
Cheers,
saskak

Mines a 2006 van. It doesn't have the buttonn on the wiper stalk all though finding the wires a standard push to make switch could be employed I'd guess.
I was hoping it'd just be an option to turn on with lexia but that's be too easy.
Thanks for all the info above from everyone.

Mine did not have the button either, I fashioned a button from the plastic thing at the end with the help of a spring. Still working 4 years on.
If there is a 3-line MFD type-B display it is matter of just turning it on (the board computer) from Lexia.
