I have a citron berlingo multispace 2002. It has 85k on the clock and it's been very reliable for the year I've owned it.

This last week its become very loud when driving. Along side this is has a weird sound. The only way I can describe it as a turning over sound/chugging? Duh duh duh duh sound apologies I no nothing about cars.

When it reaches around 60mph and above the steering then vibrants along with the noise. I have also notice the clutch has gotten very hard to push.

I personally do not think its the clutch that's the issue as it had a new one last year. Any ideas, booked in with the mechanic in 2 weeks. Just finally made it to a little camper van so don't want it to be broken . Thank you

Does it only make the noise when moving?

And only when your in gear and driving or when sitting at traffic lights or junctions too?

Does it start as you pull away, or only when up at a certain speed?

Yes only when moving if its sat with engine on it is fine. It's making the noise less offensive when driving through the street but as soon as you go higher speeds the string vibrates and becomes rather loud

Ok, does initially sound like a driveshaft CV joint has gone. I'd get it to a garage for a checkup.

Any worse when turning one way or the other? Or worse when turning at all compared to driving in a straight line?
