[Engine] Bluehdi 75ps opinions
#1
Hi. I have the option to buy a 2016 Berlingo Multispace for a decent price, but it only has the 75ps engine.
The car is 7 hours away, so I'm trying to get all my information before committing to it.

Neither of us are speed freaks, but having enough power to handle motorway overtaking and the guts to pull up hill is important.
It will mainly be carrying just the driver, occasionally two people and rarely with 4 occupants and a bootfull of gear.

It is mainly for local trips, rural driving with a few steep hills and the occasional long motorway journey.

Could anyone with experience of this engine give me their opinion on whether it will struggle with the above.

I've also heard that it can be remapped to a higher output. Is that correct and allowed?

Thank you in advance.

I have the 75ps van, and it pulls really well for its power output. On a steep incline, it could do with a boost but in regular use, even loaded, you never notice.

Saying that, I do plan to fit a remapped ECU from HDi Tuning as these ECUs can't be remapped via the obd port, if it has the EDC17C10 ECU (from 2012) then it's locked. But, can be mapped to 120 bhp with no mechanical changes. Best option is the unlocked, remapped ECU from HDi Tuning, ready to go.

That will give a big boost in torque and HP.

EDC17C10 without any problem can be remap by OBD port...

I'm very interested, please explain how to remap a locked Tri-core 17C10 from the obd port...what exact software is used?

My 2016 Partner feels a lot more powerful than the claimed bhp would suggest.
I haven't a clue if it's 75 or 100 bhp*, but It certainly has a great deal more pull than my Tucson, which was 132 bhp

*Autotrader said 75, but online car check says 100 and the V5 says nothing? except 109g/kg emissions.

Does it not show the kW rating on the V5? It should.

55kW is 75ps. I think 100ps is 68kW without looking it up.
