I have had this problem now for a while and have posted a few times and had some advice. It's the beep and warning message on the screen that says faulty airbag/seatbelt. It only happens now when I go round a corner which seems to point to the comms unit but it doesn't happen if I turn the steering wheel when the car is stationary. I have checked/double checked and triple checked the wires under the seat and can't see any problem. I have found a new indicator stalk unit as I think it's got to be that that is faulty. Has anybody ever replaced one and is it pretty straightforward? Thanks in advance.

It looks like the steering wheel and airbag need to come off at a minimum, can't see the fixings but would have thought it would be a pinch bolt to hold the signalling unit on. It also needs to be identical to the one you have, depending on rear wash-wipe, rain sensor, etc etc. I've attached a pic of the one mine has (item 1) and the replacement doesn't look too hard but if you use a non identical (wrong RPO or functionality) you may get BSI errors.
There are 24 variants of this unit depending on the configuration of your car or vans' original spec.

Great thanks. Yes I've been looking for a while for one with the same part number and one just came up that's identical so it should be ok. I've had the airbag off a few times so ok with that and I'm sure the steering wheel can't be too hard. Thanks for that, much appreciated.

Hey do you have ESP? (not extra sensory perception of course lol but Electronic Stability Program)
I only have ABS but the cars with ESP have a lateral G sensor, hidden in the centre of the vehicle under the console or carpet somewhere along where the transmission tunnel would be (if it wasn't FWD) - this could be going into fault when cornering and is actually nothing to do with the steering being turned.
Also it might be worth checking the steering angle sensor and its calibrations (SAS - again not the Special Air Service lol) - if the calibration is wildly out it can cause faults when steering - had this on an Astra SRI as the column comms unit was famous for it. You would need DiagBox for a calibration, but in an Audi on the other hand, you started in a car park with nothing around, drive straight ahead 10m, reverse straight back 10m, drive forward 10m again all without touching the steering wheel, then turn off the ignition and lock the car, then unlock and start up and it sorted the calibration itself.
