Night Heater Fitting.
#1
Hi. I've got a 2010 multispace with a removable boot camping unit. I would like to fit a diesel night heater so I can use it all year round. Has anyone managed to fit one under the front passenger seat. The unit I am thinking of is a Chinese made and is on ebay for around  £90/£110. They have got some great reviews and on ebay some one did a bench test on one on youtube with excellent results. They are a copy of webasco/eberspacher units. If anyone has fitted one of these units it would be great to hear of your experience. Thanks Dave.

I know of several people who have used the Chinese copies of Eberspacher units on boats and have not been too impressed with either operation, support or spares. Includes one where the unit actually caught fire whilst they were on board and subsequently destroyed the vessel.

Your call!

Do you have a leisure battery fitted? I only ask as these can pull up to 10A on start up. So you want one really as u don't want to be using the engine battery as ur find that too much of a drain.

Thanks for your reply Kelly. No I dont have a leisure battery fitted. It seems like the night heater may be a non starter Big Grin Get it ? No seriously I was asking to see if anyone had fitted one to their multispace so I could see if it viable and possible at reasonable money.

In my opinion u néed a leisure battery and means of charging said battery via split charge or mains depending on ur camping style (wild or site). I prefer them boxed and housed under the van if space permits. If inside we like to use a mounting plate bought separately. They are big but are bulky. The Chinese heaters with the led display will also require an inline switch too as they cause battery drain. The branded ones are better and EU approved.

Have a look at the thread that's been put in today that might help u but ud need a larger battery....it was called B9 camper build with step by step. That's quite detailed and might give you some inspiration for how to set up.
