Outside temperature sensor
#1
Its come up a few times in the past, but I cant seem to find the answer to this one;

At some point in the past the previous owner had to replace a mirror, and replaced it with a mirror that does not include the temperaturesensor.
I like to reinstall a sensor but im not sure where the sensor is supposed to be (I guess its the right side) and for the life of me I cannot find the parts anywhere.

So I was thinking, how is this sensor connected? If I cant find a mirror, maybe I can just install the sensor? As the sensor is easier to get

Hoping somebody can help me out. Which side is supposed to have the sensor?

The sensor is on the drivers side under the mirror, it is a small lump that sticks out of the bottom of the mirror.
Now an ex Berlingo owner, I have a C4

You can find replacement temp sensors by searching for "6445.F9".

This thread might be useful: https://www.berlingoforum.com/thread-4053.html

Mine did not have it altogether, I glued it inside the driver's mirror where I found a convenient place. I used silicone to engulf the sensor and stick it in place.

As above, its a resin filled encapsulated sensor that pushes through a small (6-8mm?) hole in the mirror casing, and swivels so it can jam under a protrusion in the plastic case that stops it being pushed inwards. It plugs into the harness inside the mirror.

Thanks guys Smile So its the passengerside mirror for me (LHD)

I dont quit follow on the wiring though. The guides on retrofitting on a RHD drive car arent going to work for me as that mirror doesnt have unused wires. Im guessing the pins etc are allready there, so no need for any modification, but I dont know where to hook up the sensor onto

Unless I am mistaken, the driver's mirror (the left one in your case) is manually adjusted, not motor. Unless yours is with a motor there will be unused wires for that motor that is not fitted. You can use them for the temp probe.

Basically use the one without the motor inside as it will have the unused wires.

That might work, my left side mirror doesnt have the motor. But is that going to work?

As the sensor is supposed to be on the right, all wires and the connector are on the right, I dont see how this trick is going to work on the left side
After all your moving unused wires and pins to the position the original pins and sensorwires should be wich is not the case on the left side.

The temp sensor wires only exist in the driver's side mirror. Since you're LHD, the left is still driver's side.

Same as what Zion said. The left (driver's) mirror on the LHD is a mirror image of the right mirror of the RHD (sorry, too many mirrors in my sentence). Use the side that does not have the motor. It should work.
