Hi everyone,
The external temperature gauge on my 2012 multispace is going haywire from -9 to +20. I know that the sensor is in the exterior mirror on the OS but my question is has anyone managed to get new sensor from somewhere as my local citroen dealer tell me its a complete mirror housing.
cheers tom

check the wiring to the sensor first as it could be shorting out

The sensor is wired right through the mirror casing & hinge, to the plug that connects it to the car. You could cut one off a scrap mirror but it is a pig to dismantle a mirror outer casing and then you would have to join it to the existing wires securely so it couldn't corrode.
They are not removable normally so I expect they aren't available separately. You'd have to at minimum, change the whole glass adjustment motor and temperature sensor as they are joined together by the factory connectors. Much easier to replace the whole mirror.

Those sensors are available new but a scrap one should cost buttons. It's a piece of cake to replace. You'll have the mirror dismantled in a few minutes and the little sensor nipple thing pops out without much fuss. Fishing the wires through the mirror bracket can be a pain but you could just splice the wires of the new sensor into the old wires.
