Tyre life on Berlingo / Partner.
#1
What is the expected tyre life on the 08-18 version of these cars, as there seems to be a lot of mentions of edge tyre wear on earlier regs.

My Tucson is still on it's original set at 32,000, with a fair bit of life in them yet.

Can I expect similar from a 16 reg, given the car isn't thrashed, 50/50 slow rural driving and open motorways?

Cheers.

The issue seems to stem from the rear toe-in settings as built by Citroen, that can't easily be altered. Mine seems to wear the front tyres a lot more but the wear is even and to be honest the front alignment was well out and recently corrected so a new set I expect will not wear so much.

I can't comment on actual mileage as I only do 5000 a year max and these tyres were on the alloys when I bought them so I don't know what mileage they'd covered before I got them. I bought the van in Jan and because of the limited opportunity to drive it this year I've only covered about 1500 miles all year.

As you say the earlier models did have problems with the tyre wear, there used to be lots of posts on here about it.
My  new in 2002 had extra wear on  the outside edges on the fronts the common consensus was under inflation.
The B9 I have now has not shown any such problems and I am pleased with the life of them.

Thanks for all of the replies.
There seemed to be an issue around 2012 or so with multiple reports of excess wear on the rear tyres inner edges, that would ruin a tyre in about 10,000 miles.
It was likely due to a misalignment of the rear suspension from what I can gather. It's clearly not a widespread problem now, or there would be more complaints from a goolag search.

Cheers.

Our 2013 Multispace wears rears quicker than fronts but it's the outer edges that get to minimums first - around 25k.

I've done 10000 miles over 17 months on a set of "non known brand" tyres put on by my dealer at time of purchase, they are wearing evenly and have 5mm tread on them, (I measured them just a couple of days ago).
B9 Multispace HDi Blue 100PS. This is a similar wear rate to the Michelin Premacy tyres I had on my previous B9 Multispace 110PS

The only problem we have had across 4 Berlinfos in 20 years is the outside edge of the nearside front, according to our local tyre fitter isit is not a Berlingo specific problem in our area (Chorley, Lancashire) but a general problem caused by the number of small roundabouts on the inner bypass.
