K9 van insurance
#1
So I had a rear 3 seat conversion F1 tested last monday along with a handle put on the passenger side door on my 2019 1500 blue 130 but my insurance is due on the 8th Oct and my insurance has gone up around £300 so now £992 I have spent all today on comparison sites and other sites to find it cheaper but they all came up with Highway via Liverpool Victoria as they are now the only company that will insure the van with seat conversions. Just mentioning this if anyone else is thinking of doing it most other mods are ok with other company's but not this.

If you get side windows fitted, you can get it reclassified as a car derived van or even utility vehicle. That might drop the insurance a lot. Reclassification has to be with the DVLA and would require lots of pics and a form to fill in.

I am waiting for windows but Citroen have not released them yet and as i use the van for work I don't think it would be worth it  as they would prob class it as a crew cab I actually think this has been done to stop people making there own day vans as some i am sure are not using certificated crash tested seating as i have never had this problem before as i have done it with Dispatches transits and vitos

I wonder if they consider that having only one rear side door (which it sounds like you have) with a 3 seat conversion may compromise emergency access and therefore upped the risk. Insurance companies work in strange ways to protect their money!
B9 (2016) 1.6 BlueHDi 100 Multispace XTR = Mine;   B9 (2013) Enterprise 1.6 HDi Van = Hers.

I have been self employed for 40yrs and i could have got insurance off comparison sites for £300 but opted for the company i was happy with

Spoken with the company today as i paid over the phone its because more people in the van at risk ie 5 instead of 3 and most are changing to only accept 2 changes to the factory build so with the tow bar that is it, I will have to do the window if i want it next time

Or next time get a Multispace, then you have all the seats and boot space but with car insurance...
