[Warning Light] P0500

hi,

i had a P0500 code from an obd machine which pointed to the vehicle speed sensor, could anyone tell me where the sensor is located on the 20 hdi, ihave found details for other variants but not the same location.
would i also be able to get a part number i can search for and if there are any special precautions to take.

Its attached to the gearbox,if you have a haynes manual its covered in there, if i remember right there is a downloadable version on the forum.

thanks for your reply, i bought the same sensor a week ago but i cannot see it anywhere on my vehicle, i have searched for it from above and below and the seems to be nothing like it anywhere on the gearbox or drive shafts which is where youtube videos indicate but they are a bit vague about the actual location, a haynes manual will be my next point of call as the exploded images are really good at pin pointing.
